Last year I was looking for a pair of golf shoes and I had one requirement: I wanted shoes that weren’t hideously ugly. Even mainstream shoemakers like Nike make incredibly ugly golf shoes.
So when I came across the Ecco Street Premiere shoes last year I knew I had to have them. Little did I know that they were the must-have shoe last year after Fred Couples wore them at the Masters. I did have to do a bit of looking to find a pair in my size, but once I had them I loved them!
Ecco has updated the Street for 2011 and dropped the Premiere part of the name, although the Street Premieres do appear to still be available. The new Streets have a similar look to the 2010s although they have a new diamond patchwork leather pattern and appear to have a slightly lower profile and slimmer midsole. Overall the new Streets seem to be going for a bit more luxe look and with that they are offering few more refined color choices in addition to the brighter ones offered last year.
If I didn’t already own a pair I’d definitely pick up the silver ones, although I do like the more skate shoe look of my 2010s. Here are a few of the colors available from Ecco. They are also available on Zappos
